You have health insurance

Have private health insurance or a mutual fund? No problem.

You can book a video consultation with me even if your insurer does not include me in their network. You pay for the consultation directly and, depending on your policy, your insurer may reimburse part or all of the amount.

1

Book and pay for the video consultation

The process is the same for all patients. Choose a date and time and pay online when booking.

2

Attend the consultation

We meet via video call. Afterwards you receive the invoice by email along with any recommendations we agreed on during the consultation.

3

Request your invoice

After the consultation I will send you an official invoice with all the tax details required for reimbursement.

4

Claim reimbursement from your insurer

Submit the invoice to your insurer. The amount reimbursed depends on your policy — some cover 100%, others a percentage. Check your policy conditions.

The invoice I issue includes everything your insurer needs

  • Doctor's full name, medical registration number and specialty
  • Date and type of consultation (video consultation)
  • Full tax details including VAT number and official invoice number

How much will your insurer reimburse? It depends on your policy and insurer. Some cover out-of-network specialist visits up to 80–100%. Contact your insurer before the consultation to confirm the reimbursement conditions of your plan.

Frequently asked questions about insurance and reimbursement

Everything you need to know before booking if you have private health insurance or a mutual fund.

Insurance

Yes, absolutely. Having health insurance does not affect your access to the consultation in any way. You can book and be seen exactly like any other patient.

The difference is that in this case you pay for the consultation directly and then claim reimbursement from your insurer using the invoice I issue.

Reimbursement

It depends on the specific conditions of your policy. Some insurers reimburse 100% of an out-of-network specialist consultation; others cover a fixed percentage, and some have a maximum amount per medical act.

I recommend contacting your insurer before booking to confirm:

  • Whether it covers out-of-network digestive specialist consultations.
  • What percentage or maximum amount they reimburse.
  • What documentation they need to process the reimbursement.
Invoice

The invoice I issue meets all the requirements insurers need to process reimbursement. It includes:

  • Doctor's name, registration number and specialty.
  • Date, type of consultation (video consultation) and itemised amount.
  • Full tax details including VAT number and official invoice number.

If your insurer requests any additional information, please do not hesitate to ask me.

Video consultation

Generally yes. Most private health insurers recognise medical video consultations as a valid healthcare act in all respects, just like an in-person consultation.

However, as conditions vary between companies, we recommend confirming this directly with your insurer before the consultation, especially if your policy is more than 3–4 years old.

Process

You can request it during the video consultation itself or by emailing me afterwards. I will issue it with all the details required for reimbursement.

If you need it issued in the name of a specific company or mutual fund, please indicate this when booking in the observations field and we will handle it without any problem.

Civil service mutuals

Civil service mutual funds (MUFACE, ISFAS, MUGEJU) have their own reimbursement conditions for specialist care outside their network. In general, they allow partial reimbursement for out-of-network specialist visits, although with established maximum amounts.

Check the benefits regulations of your mutual fund or contact them directly to find out the current procedure and amounts before booking the consultation.
